PRE-PAINTED GALVANIZED IRON (PPGI)
Description
1. Product Description
Pre-Painted Galvanized Iron (PPGI) is a color coated steel product manufactured on a galvanized steel (GI) substrate. The GI base consists primarily of Zinc (Zn), which protects the steel from corrosion. A paint coating is then applied to enhance aesthetics and durability.
2. Key Advantages
Good Corrosion Resistance: The Zinc layer prevents oxidation and extends the product’s lifespan.
Smooth, Paint-Compatible Surface: Suitable for various paint systems, including Polyester (PE), Super Polyester (SP), and PVDF.
Cost Effective: Compared to PPGL and PPZM, PPGI offers a more affordable solution for diverse construction projects.
3. Technical Specifications

Standards Compliance: JIS G3312 (Japan), ASTM A755/A755M (USA), EN 10169 (Europe)
4. PPGI Production Process
1️⃣ Surface Treatment: The GI substrate is degreased and cleaned.
2️⃣ Primer painting: A primer layer is applied for enhanced adhesion.
3️⃣ Top paint: A finishing paint is applied, either single-layer or double-layer.
4️⃣ Baking and Cooling: The painting is cured in an oven for strong adhesion and complete drying.
5️⃣ Quality Inspection: Paint thickness, adhesion, and corrosion resistance are tested.
6️⃣ Coiling and Packaging: The final product is rolled, inspected, and packaged for delivery.
5. Applications
Construction: Roofing, wall cladding, roller doors, ventilation systems.
Automotive Industry: Truck bodies, vehicle parts.
Home Appliances: Washing machines, refrigerators, electrical cabinets.
